These are the rules for Mudbloods & Murmurs. Failure to follow the rules will result in warning and, depending on the crime, possibly banning.
This site is for intermediate and advanced Rpers. If you are not up do these standards, please do not get upset if we don't accept you. I promise it is nothing personal. You are more than welcome to come back after you have had more experience.
Being admin, I have the right to change the rules whenever I feel the need too.
{ON BEHAVIOR}
Respect the admins and moderators. If they tell you to do something, please do so. Please do not get upset or post rude remarks, since they are just doing their job. Also, respect other members. No one likes rude people.
No one is allowed to take someone else's work and post it as their own. I have had this happen to me and I promise that anyone caught doing so will be BANNED FROM THE SITE NO EXCEPTION!.
-You should know that this includes copying anything from a website, whether it be the HP Lexicon, HP Wiki, or anything of the sort. If I find that you copied there will be a problem. Also remember that I check these sites to make sure that this doesn't happen. After all, an original character has to come up with everything themselves, why should you be able to copy because you have a canon?
Please do NOT post anywhere on the rpg boards UNTIL you have been approved!
Do not advertise in any place besides where it belongs. If you ask people to join you site in the c-box or through PM, you will get a talking to from me. I find it rude to constantly ask others to join your site on someone else’s and would never do so, so don’t do it here. Also, please don't advertise through your character's banner.
The site is rated PG-13 because lets face it, there are some very experienced and talented writers who aren't older then sixteen. If you can't see something in a PG-13 movie, then there is no place for it on this site.
There is to be no fighting in the C-Box. If you have a dispute, take it to the Private Messages. Do not get other people involved that don’t need to be. If I or another staff member finds that you are starting fights, you will get a warning. You only get ONE warning.
{ON ROLE PLAYING}
Swearing on the site is allowed, but please keep it limited. There is to be no offensive remarks in the OOC though and the second I find out that someone has done so, I will sort it out. Once again, if you continue, you will be banned from the site, since it goes strictly against the “Respect” rule.
All post must be in third person. It is just too confusing to read if you use anything else. Here at M&M, we do not have a word count. With that said, please don't go around posting one liners. Remember, it is only fair to try and match the word count of the person you are RPing with. Don't post two hundred words as a reply when they wrote seven hundred for you.
Please use the spell check button and make sure your post makes sense. I’m not saying they have to one hundred percent flawless, but try to limit grammar and spelling errors.
No god-moding. No one likes to have their character controlled by someone else.
{ON MAKING A CHARACTER}
You are allowed to have more than one character, but for each character you create, you must also create a separate account. You are allowed to have up to as many accounts as you wish, as long as they are all active. At this site, we don't have a 'ratio rule' for genders simply because there are some people who prefer to rp as certain gender. However, if it gets to the point that we still have far too many girls compared to boys, I will enforce a ban until things even out.
When it comes to age, remember that wizards and witches only receive their Hogwarts letter on their eleventh birthday. This means that they must turn eleven BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1ST. Therefore, there should be no one who is, for example, thirteen in fourth year.
When you have come up with your character and it is time to post the finished application, post it in the correct place with your characters name as the title. It should read like “POTTER, lily luna ”. It should also be placed in the "PENDING" sub-board of "Registration".
*Remember that not everyone in Slytherin is a Pureblood. In fact, purebloods are the most rare when it comes down to it, so there should be more halfbloods. Also, you don't need to be a Pureblood to support Voldemort.
If you get a canon please keep them active. It isn't fair for those who would like to get them if the current person is never active.
I’m putting this up as a warning, though I hope that no one will do this. Please, please, do not make a mary sue. No one is perfect, everyone has a flaw. Your character will not be liked by everyone, nor will they be adored like some god/goddess walking around mortals. If your character is a mary sue or gary stu, be warned that I will not accept them.
To go with this, there aren’t going to be any original characters related to a canon. If a family member is not on the canon list and does not exist in the books, than they don't exist period.
I know you all have lives; I myself have work and school. Therefore, I can understand that you can’t always get on to post/reply. The only think that I ask is that you post in character at least once a week. However, if you are gone more than three weeks and don’t tell anyone why, your account will risk being deleted.
Also, if you make an account and don't do anything with it after three weeks, it will be deleted unless you have a good reason for being gone.
Avatars are mandatory. Please only real people and real celebrities. Celebrities age must be with ten years of the character they are portraying. DON'T USE PEOPLE FROM MYSPACE! They must also be no larger than 150x250. If you do post an image, please make sure that is less than 500X300. If it stretches the page, you're going to have to fix it.
Once you have been accepted, please change your name to the character's full name in lower case! -----
