To her, the library was a library, nothing more, nothing less. Honestly, she enjoyed doing her homework more in the comfort of the Slytherin common room and she would have been doing it there if it hadn’t been taken over by a very annoying group of first years. At first she hadn’t minded being in the library, but now it was starting to get to her. Her homework, which she had originally thought would only take an hour, was now bordering on two. To make matters worse, she had skipped eating and was now only beginning to realize what a bad idea that had been.
Setting down her quill, Daphne ran a hand through her hair. She needed a break, need the time to take her mind of her studies that she couldn’t care less about. There was a reason she wasn’t a Ravenclaw. The legs of her chair scrapped against the floor as she went to stand up and was surprised that Madam Prince hadn’t thrown a fit about the noise. No one got under her skin quite as much as Madam Prince, which was why Daphne tried to stay away from the woman as much as possible. Daphne did a quick look over the belongings she had with her to make sure there was nothing too valuable before leaving the table and heading to the numerous shelves of books.
Once she was hidden by the wall of books, Daphne let her fingers run along the spines, eyes trailing over the various titles as she went. The majority of them had to do with education, books on the goblin wars and the like. None of which she needed nor wanted at the moment. To be honest, she hadn’t even used them when she had needed them.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px]I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE DRIVING we gotta make a decision: leave tonight or live and die this way? [/style][style=background-color: 1b1b1b; width: 200px; height: 300px; float: right; border: 0px solid #0e0e0e; padding: 8px; color: 454545; overflow: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: arial]Theodore had no idea what the hell he was doing in the library, because truth be told he hated books, and reading… and anything that really involved the two of them together.. Okay maybe hate was a little strong, but it definitely wasn’t on his list of favorite things to talk and/or think about. He had been in the library for approximately 15 minutes when all gave up. He really didn’t know why he thought this would be a good idea, he had made it a point of avoiding the library for the past 6 years anyways. Although little had changed in his time here. Standing up he left his stuff at his table and began to walk around.
He wandered around aimlessly, occasionally stopping to look at the occasional book on a shelf. In truth didn’t know why he here. He absently scanned the titles of the section of books he was standing in, he read them out loud, “Flesh and Bone… He’s just not that into you… A frank guide to incest…” He paused. “What kind of books is this library carrying?” He said with a small laugh. He contemplated picking up the book and flipping through it, but decided against it, mid-reach of it. There were just some things in life he could live without knowing. He moved further down the aisle and continued to read the titles. It was there that he saw her.
Her being Daphne Greengrass. He and Daphne had been friends for what seemed like an eternity now, ever since they were little kids. Their parents would ship them off to each other’s houses and force them to play with each other, not that he minded, she had some kick ass toys, and didn’t mind sharing with him. Over the years, Daphne had somehow become one of his best friends. Through all their fights, playful banter… and err… extracurricular activities that they participated in together, she had engrained herself in his heart and in his brain, and he was glad that they were friends. He would do anything for her in a heartbeat whether it was listening to her go on and on about some dude she was crushing or confront some bitch who was messing with her.
Anyways, she was standing in the middle of the isle staring up at some book or something on the top shelf. Leaning casually against said shelf, he folded his arms across his chest, and allowed a small smirk play on his lips, “Hey stranger, long time no see?”

words // 433 // outfit // clicky // tagged // theodore boy with a coin, T H E N M A K I N G A W I S H , A N D T O S S E D I N T H E S E A In all honesty, Daphne didn’t mind reading. Most of the time, she actually somewhat enjoyed it. However, that joy was soon loss the moment the reading switched from being for entertainment and more for academics. She had often been forced to study as a child, her numerous tutors trying to make her into the perfect example of a pureblood daughter. Daphne had always hated being forced to read about astronomy or whatever other subject had been deemed important for her to know. She would often complain for hours, to which her parents turned a deaf ear too. Instead, she had been made to sit for hours as she went through her lessons. The whole process had been very dull and was not a fond memory for her.
The sudden interruption of silence would have startled her had Daphne not instantly realized whom the voice belonged to. Sure enough, she turned her head to see none other than Theodore Nott standing a few feet away, leaning on a bookshelf with a smirk on his face. Daphne had a decent amount of friends, quite a bit of them people she only associated with to keep on the good side of her parents. Theodore was one of the exceptions. Sure it had started out that way, their parents had thrown them together at any chance they had. Daphne couldn’t remember the number of times Theodore and her had been forced to play while their mothers had tea and their fathers talked about some nonsense the children were too young to understand.
As children, they hadn’t always gotten along; though Daphne had a feeling that most children rarely did. Yet, as the years went on, Daphne quickly found their relationship morphing into that of an actual friendship. She didn’t know if it had to do with them being each other’s only amusement at functions or if they just accepted that they would always run in the same circle but whatever the reason, he had become her best friend. She honestly couldn’t fathom going through her Hogwarts years with out him.
“Well, isn’t this a pleasant surprise.” Daphne replied as she turned her head to face him, a teasing smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Knowing Theodore as well as she did, she also knew his dislike of the library, which was why she was a little shocked to see him there. "Did you get lost or have you finally discovered a love for literature?”
