VICTORIA SKYE LARKIN [/style] [style=font-family:times; font-size:10; letter-spacing: 6px; line-height: 2px color:#9E3C33; text-transform:uppercase; font-style: italic; ] you're a wizard, harry CHARACTER FULL NAME: Victoria Skye Larkin NICKNAMES: Vic DATE OF BIRTH: March 21 AGE: 37 GENDER: Female SEXUAL ORITATION: Heterosexual OCCUPATION: Ancient Studies Professor BLOODSTATUS: Pureblood FINANCIAL STATUS: Middle class YEAR: 1970-1977 HOUSE: Ravenclaw Alumni WAND: 11” Alder w/ Veela hair ALLEGIENCE: Hogwarts and its students CANON: No Tell Us a little about how you look HEIGHT: 5’7” WEIGHT: 130lbs HAIR COLOR: Brown EYE COLOR: Brown DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: She has a sweet face often mistaken for innocence and inexperience. FACE CLAIM: Kate Beckinsale ATTIRE: Victoria is youthful which reflects not only in her personality but also in her presence. Granted her style has changed through the thirty-seven years she’s graced this world - following trends and fashion styles, but she remains true to her age. The only constant in her fashion is that she keeps up with trends. It’s not so drastically noticeable as an adult, but she definitely has her share of photos as a teenager with absolutely ridiculous outfits. But hey! It was the style back then. As a very hands on person, she make sure her clothes are durable, but she also has her collection of sleek dresses and robes for the occasion. On an everyday basis, she’s relaxed in her attire. Either her hair is tied back or let down in loose locks. She likes her t-shirt and jeans. Even as plain as she likes to dress, she’s very feminine. and then a little about yourself LIKES: + Travel: She loves traveling and loves it even more that her work allows her to do it so often. + Teaching: As much as she loves traveling, she also loves to come back to Hogwarts and share her knowledge with students. + Her niece and nephew: She absolutely adores them and spoils them rotten. She swore to herself when they were born that she would be the aunt who always had a piece of gum for them (sugar free of course). + Her pets: She can’t imagine anyone not liking them and pretty much gives them free reign. She feels animals should be treated like humans: with respect. + Shopping: What kind of girl doesn’t like shopping? + Home: As much as she loves traveling and being free, she also likes to know she has an established home where she can return. + Muggle items: Her brother is in Muggle Liaisons and her father used to work with ordinary muggle items when he worked with portkeys. So she’s intrigued by them, too, and will collect a few items she finds particularly interesting. For instance, she has a toaster in her office that she’ll use when she has a cup of coffee. + Cool breezes: She absolutely love soft cool breezes and loves the feel of it sweeping through her hair and across her bare shoulders. DISLIKES: - Being taken advantage of or less seriously than she intends: She won’t sit back and let people walk all over her just because she’s a woman. - Being trapped or stifled: Otherwise, she starts to get anxious and moody. - Negativity: She’s all for encouraging and supporting someone, but when a person refuses to feel better, she loses interest. She also hates it when people are discouraging to others. Why do it? - Packing: As much as she loves traveling, she hates packing and unpacking. Often times she won’t even unpack when she arrives and then takes the packed luggage again when she leaves. - Close-mindedness: Why go through life being stubborn and close-minded? She thinks people like this miss out on adventure and learning something new. - Passing judgement: Especially when people judge others about something they can’t change (i.e. their blood type). - Death Eaters & the Dark Lord: It’s now self-explanatory about why. She doesn't think people are in a position to view themselves as superior. - Being fake: She hates it when people are superficial. BOGGART: Herself... with only a torso. ERISED: A pedestal with a bejeweled box in the distance. She doesn't know what is in it, but knows the contents are historically significant. OVERALL PERSONALITY: From the moment Victoria drew her first breath she was a lively and energetic being. This made for long nights in those early years for her parents. There’s very little that can bring her down and if she does feel negatively, she brushes it aside quickly. She’s definitely the forgive and forget type. She rarely holds grudges and finds no reason to. It takes more energy to be mad than it’s generally worth. She can come off as not taking things seriously, sometimes, but her philosophy is to be upfront about issues and deal with them head on so she can move on. However, she will not push issues. If she points out an issue or provides a suggestion, it’s up to the other person to do something about it. She’s very enthusiastic and optimistic. She likes to think her positive attitude fuels others. She’s generous with her time so long as it doesn’t feel like work. Negativity turns her off and if she finds herself with a group of whiners she will just leave. She’d rather be alone than be with people that are constantly complaining. It’s draining. Even though she likes to be around people, she has no problem being by herself. She’s not one to be constantly with friends or require others to do something. If she suddenly feels the desire, she’ll do it. If others decide to join her she’s welcoming. As sporadic and ADD as she might seem, she is dependable. She’s very caring about her friends and family. She likes to know they are taken care of and if not, she will take charge. She’s maternal in that sense. She’s patient and understanding, especially when it comes to teaching and dealing with children. All the energy aside, Victoria can get moody if she feels stifled. Inactivity makes her anxious, but she usually finds things to do to keep her busy. Because she’s so independent she can come off as self-involved. She will do what she wants and not consider anyone else. Her spontaneity can be viewed as positive, but also as negative. She can be impulsive, doing things without thinking. She’s straightforward and blunt when she should bite her tongue. As patient as she can be when it comes to teaching, she can also be very impatient. She likes immediate gratification, which explains why she’ll splurge on herself. She’s materialistic and likes owning and buying things. In that respect, she can be a little irresponsible. As a grown woman, she likes to think she’s well-behaved and always composed, but she can get very wound up when things don’t go her way. history your family and such PARENTS: James Mathias Larkin | 66 | Retired Portkey Officer Kaitlin Amelia Larkin | 62 | Retired Healer SIBLINGS: Kent William Larkin | 34 | Muggle Liaisons Officer OTHER: Tiffany Ann Larkin | 32 | House-wife | Sister-in-law Kaylee Serene Larkin | 5 | Niece Jasper William Larkin | 3 | Nephew PETS: Noodle (a Nifler), & Piggley and Wiggley (Pygmy puffs) – her niece and nephew named them. OVERALL HISTORY: James and Kaitlin met through a mutual friend when they were teenagers. Their relationship started off slow and they remained friends for years before they realized they didn’t want the other dating anyone else. A lot of their friends disapproved for fear that it would all end badly, but nothing could dissuade them. They knew each other most intimately and so, a long time friendship blossomed into a loving relationship. They were a quiet couple, not one to be envied. James had a modest job at the Ministry of Magic and Kaitlin was a Healer. They were well off and perfectly capable of welcoming their two children, Victoria and Kent, into this world. Only three years apart, the two siblings were close. They were often left home alone while their parents worked, but they always found something to do. Victoria was a lively spirit and even as a child, loved adventure. No one could ask for a happier family. Victoria can’t remember when she was forced to grow up. Always the one to have a positive outtake on life, reality hit her kind of hard at a very young age. Victoria was not one to judge people by the color of their skin or by how much stuff they had, so it never crossed her mind to judge a person by their blood type either. She quickly learned that wasn’t the case for everyone else. Though her parents did not talk about it in front of her, gradually she found out that the purity of her blood was judged as a good thing and there was even talks (reminders if you will) that she should marry another pureblood, as her parents had. She didn't understand at this age that it was because her parents were deemed weak-willed and having married just because they didn't want to deal with being disowned. She supposes the outlook made a little sense, since they never came off as particularly passionate about one another. She was about nine years old when the first war started. By this time, her parents might have been considered weak-willed, but she despised the thought of judging someone by the ‘purity’ of their blood. Even at her young age she was bold, but she was far too young to do anything about it. Her parents were a quiet couple. Even if they were pureblood they weren’t the type to judge people either. But different from their daughter, they didn’t want to get involved. Her father felt pressure from extended family for the work he did as a pureblood and for a few years he retired to avoid trouble. In the meantime, Victoria was encouraged to be careful and focus on her studies. As much as she despised the Dark Lord, she was only a child and war was not something she constantly thought about. There was always an undertone of fear and concern, but Victoria was too young to identify that at the time. From a young age, Victoria knew she wanted to travel. When she found out about ancient studies and the idea of traveling to these ancient places to pursue them, she was sold. After Hogwarts, she moved to Egypt to study. Her parents were only too relieved to send their feisty daughter away from the continuous danger lurking at home. In Egypt, she often went to dig sites and on location to study ancient magic. It was not necessary, but she liked to be in the midst of everything, face to face. She loved being hands-on and examining hieroglyphics. This trait was something she carried through into her other visits. She grew to love her work as much as when she dreamed of entering the field. It was because of this that she put off having a family and her younger brother settled down first. Her parents remind her constantly of the fact and that she’s 'running out of time'. She absolutely adores her niece and nephew, and a part of her envies what her brother has. As she is reaching a certain age, she wants to find the one, but at the same time she still feels too young to be bothered. As much as she adores her parents and brother, she couldn’t possibly imagine settling down, tied to one place for the next forty years. Her parent’s way of life was boring enough, she didn’t have to relive it first hand. As an established ancient magic scholar, she has been given the honor to teach at Hogwarts. Ancient Studies is an extra-curricular class and isn’t taught every school year, which gives her the freedom to travel. She enjoys teaching and interacting with the students. It has been a couple of years since she’s been back, but she feels the timing is right. With the threat rising again, she feels this time she can make a difference. now for the person behind the character ALIAS: Pickle AGE: Years EXPERIENCE: Years WHERE'D YOU FIND US?: On my computer screen [style=padding-right:5px; padding-left:9px; font-family:georgia; font-size:10; letter-spacing:0px; color:#fff;line-height:10px; text-align:center; border-left:0px dotted black; text-transform:uppercase; padding-bottom:0px; text-shadow: 0 0 0.2em #F87, 0 0 0.2em #F87;] Credit goes to MDIZZLE FO RIZZLE at Caution 2.0 |
